Q&A
1. remove info from hard drive before recycling (this is a laptop, which no longer starts)
remove hard drive from the laptop and then drill holes in the hard drive
2. where is the file that holds desktop images? I want to make my own image the desktop image.
open system preferences, open the desktop panel, and drag images to that to add to the library
3. when an iPhone receives an email with an mp3 file attached, can that mp3 be copied to the iTunes library on the iPhone.
No, but it can be played from the email.
However, on your Mac, you may save it to iTunes.
4. Runaway scrolling: when I scroll down, it sometimes runs away, too fast for me to read.
dragging the scroll "thumb" can move pages very fast within documents with a lot of pages.
try clicking in the scroll bar, or use a mouse with a scroll wheel.
5. downloading MIDI files, with option clicking, usually works fine. One web site says to use right-click. How do I do this.
use the cntl-click combination. But sometimes this will not work if the quicktime plugin is embedded in the page, without the option of downloading.
6. Audio books: I deleted some, but the reference still shows in iTunes, but will not play, The items on the iPod will still play. I cancelled my subscription to the Audible service.
basically you need to re-subscribe.
7. developing for iPhone, just switched to new machine, moving my project. My certificates are having trouble. The certificates seem green, but the iPhone says it can not find valid certificates.
(iPhone apps have to be signed by Apple, even while under development)
You will need to get new certificates from Apple - that is the easiest and fastest way.
